• Two Heritage College students secure victory

  • Kolkata: The third edition of the National Policy Hackathon's grand finale, jointly organised by IIM Kolkata and IIFT, in association with Teach for India and Tata Strive, concluded on March 2 at IIM Kolkata. The event saw participation from 500 students from esteemed institutions across India in the initial round. The second round featured 50 selected participants, with 20 teams advancing to the final round held on March 2 at IIM Kolkata.

    Abhishek Banerjee and Ashmita Seal, two final-year students of the Heritage College, Kolkata, achieved first position, whilst Christ University, Bangalore, and Tata Institute of Social Sciences secured second and third positions respectively.

    The fifth-semester student Ashmita Seal from the Department of English, and sixth-semester student Abhishek Banerjee from the Department of Economics delivered a six-minute presentation which became a deciding factor in the final round.

    The National Policy Hackathon served as a platform for policy enthusiasts and innovators to address critical challenges affecting future development. Participants engaged in multiple stages, including a Policy Brief Round, Whitepaper submissions, and culminated in an offline Jury Grand Finale at the IIM Calcutta campus, distinguishing itself from standard case-study competitions.
