  • Southern West Bengal is expected to have dry weather during Holi (on Friday), with no rain in most areas. Kolkata will have sunny and dry conditions throughout the week. The city’s temperatures are gradually rising, with the maximum reaching 33 degrees Celsius and minimum at 23 degrees Celsius on Monday.

South Bengal will see temperatures increasing after Holi (Dol Purnima), leading to warmer conditions. Mornings and nights will be relatively cool until Holi. Kolkata itself will see a gradual temperature increase leading up to Holi, followed by a sharper rise, bringing intense heat. No rain is expected in Kolkata or other South Bengal districts for the time being.

In contrast, North Bengal’s hilly districts, Darjeeling and Kalimpong, may experience rain at the start of the week. Additionally, Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar in North Bengal have a chance of rain within the next 48 hours. There is no alert by the weather department for fishermen.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to rise in the coming week, bringing warmth to the city. In South Bengal, the weather will be dry, while some pockets of North Bengal will witness rain,” said an IMD official.
