Kolkata: Overloading in one of the eight inline baggage scan (ILBS) portals led to its temporary shutdown on Tuesday at 8 pm. Airport officials said the operational snag that occurred on ILBS portal 5 was addressed and the inline scan restored by 8.07 pm. Baggage of Akasa Airlines is scanned on this portal.
Around 5.47 pm, Akasa Airlines urged flyers to reach airport four hours prior to departure citing the need to screen baggage at standalone X-Ray machines that had led to longer queues, Kolkata Airport in a post on X at 10.13 pm said said the baggage handling system was functioning smoothly. "Our teams are working to maintain seamless operations," it said.
