Saithia: Following clashes on Friday during Holi celebrations, internet service has been suspended in parts of Sainthia police station area of Birbhum from Friday 8pm. The suspension will continue till Monday for public safety. There have been injuries on both sides and as many as 21 men have been arrested in the case.
Home secretary Nandini Chakravorty's order mentions there was "no restriction on voice call, SMS or newspapers, hence communications and dissemination of knowledge and information is not stopped in any way."
Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS has been clamped in Sainthia and large police contingents have been posted across the area.
Another trouble broke out at Kirnahar PS area in Nanoor as two groups clashed. No major injury was reported.
