Kolkata: Jadavpur University's interim vice-chancellor Bhaskar Gupta will join duty on Monday. He was discharged from hospital and returned home last week. He had a check-up on Sunday and the doctor gave him permission to join his office. However, he still has some restrictions, like working for a short period of time on campus, and he has been asked not to take any stress. On Sunday, Gupta said, "I am feeling quite well now and I am eagerly waiting to return to the campus."
Gupta was admitted to a private hospital on March 5 with a spiked BP count and other health issues. After the fracas on the campus on March 1, when he went to visit injured students at the hospital, he was attacked by some students. This had triggered a rise in his BP count.
