Kolkata: The state government will extend an ad-hoc bonus of Rs 6,800 to its employees not covered by any productivity-linked bonus and whose revised emoluments were below Rs 44,000 per month in March. An order by finance secretary P K Mishra said that Muslim employees would receive the bonus before the end of the Eid al-Fitr festival, while others would get it between Sept 15 and Sept 19.
The bonus is Rs 800 more than last year's, and the upper limit of emoluments has also been increased by Rs 2,000 per month this year. The state also sanctioned an interest-free festival advance up to a maximum of Rs 20,000 for employees whose emoluments in March did not exceed Rs 52,000 per month. Last year, the advance was Rs 18,000. The order stated that there would also be an ex-gratia payment of Rs 3,500 for each pensioner.
