123 Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Wednesday allowed a Hindu protest rally at East Midnapore's Tamluk town on Thursday. State leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari will participate.
Petitioners had moved the HC after cops denied permission to the procession, proposed after the Nimtala incident. Justice Tirthankar Ghosh allowed the rally with not more than 1,000 participants from 1pm-2.30pm, covering a nearly 2km stretch.
Justice Ghosh directed organisers not to shout slogans or use microphones within 50m of schools and colleges, and to allow traffic on one flank of the road.
