Kolkata: Nasrin Khatun, the last of the three women, whose condition turned critical after giving birth at Midnapore Medical College and was sent to SSKM on Jan 12, was shifted out of the critical care unit to general ward on Thursday.
Mampi Singh and Minara Biwi went home earlier.
The hospital formed a medical board, chaired by critical care medicine professor Sugata Dasgupta. It included gynaecology, nephrology, neurology, physical medicine and rehab, microbiology and biochemistry doctors. "Relentless efforts by doctors, nurses, paramedical and ancillary staff of CCU and ITU, and support from the administration, helped us move the last of the women from the CCU," said a doctor. tnn
