12 Kolkata: The state school education department has initiated disciplinary action against three teachers involved in the Taruner Swapna tab scam. The department has directed the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education to issue show-cause notices against them. Among the accused, two are from East Burdwan and one from Murshidabad.
Investigations revealed that the teachers played a direct role in diverting Rs 10,000 meant for purchasing tablets for students to other accounts. Police have already initiated legal proceedings.
An official from the secondary education department said, "They will be given time to provide their written answers. If required, they will be called for a hearing, and based on that, a charge sheet will be framed before taking punitive actions."
