12 Kolkata: Union home minister Amit Shah's visit to Kolkata, scheduled for the end of March, has been deferred. Sources in Bengal BJP said that Shah be busy with Parliament session and some organisational work during this period and would not be able to visit Kolkata.
Earlier this month, Shah met Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar and state minder Amit Malviya in New Delhi. Coming out of the meeting, Majumdar said that Shah was likely to visit Bengal by the end of March. "Parliament will be in session during this period, and Amitji will attend that. Moreover, there are crucial organisational meetings during this period. His visit to Kolkata has been deferred," a Bengal BJP neta said.
