  • 123 Kolkata: A 73-year-old ex-chemical engineer in Mumbai with Alzheimer's, who went missing on his way to factory in Bandra (West) nearly six years ago, was found in Nagerbazar, Dum Dum. Thanks to the efforts of Nagerbazar police and HAM radio operators, his family was traced to Bandra and they are on their way from Mumbai to the Missionaries of Charity in Dum Dum to take him back home.

Nikant Rao Bapuram Kale, a resident of Warud in Wardha, went missing in mid-June 2019 after leaving for his workplace but never returned home.

A few months ago, he was found living on a pavement in Nagerbazar. A team from Nagerbazar PS found the septuagenarian and, with the help of locals, admitted him to Dum Dum branch of the Missionaries of Charity. Debabrata Ghosh from the Missionaries of Charity then sought help from HAM radio operators. Ambarish Nag Biswas, secretary of West Bengal Radio Club, and his team shared his photos through HAM radio network on Saturday. Within hours, they managed to locate his daughter, Madhuri, who now lives in a Bandra West slum with her ailing mother. — Sanjib Chakraborty
