  • 12 Kolkata: The appliances business of Godrej Enterprises Group is witnessing a shift in demand for commercial cassette air conditioners from the business-to-business (B2B) to the business-to-consumer (B2C) segment in the state. The company, which earned Rs 350 crore revenue from AC sales in Bengal in 2024-25, is refining its business strategy to raise the revenue to Rs 550 crore in 2025-26, said Kamal Nandi, business head and executive vice president of the group's appliance business.

Sabyasachi Gupta, product group head (ACs), said, "In the commercial segment, we sell cassette and tower ACs. Of the two, the demand for cassette ACs is 96% in Bengal, while the rest goes to tower ACs. Usually, we sell commercial ACs to B2B players like restaurants, cafes, hotels, educational institutes and hospitals. These ACs are being installed for domestic purposes as well. Following interior designers' and architects' decorations, consumers are purchasing cassette ACs for their new properties."

Nandi said the company planned to open about 500 or 600 new outlets in the state. "This year, we are eyeing over 50% growth in our AC business in Bengal, which has a good market for premium products. We will keep enhancing our retail network to add new customers," said Nandi.
