Submit footage, photos of Baruipur March 19 attack: HC

Kolkata: Calcutta HC on Thursday gave another opportunity to the petitioners — alleging an attack on LoP Suvendu Adhikari's car during a BJP meeting at Baruipur on March 19 — to produce video footage and photographs to substantiate it during the next hearing on April 8.
The state submitted its report stating that the core video footage of the incident didn't substantiate the charge.
Counsel for the petitioners Mayukh Mukherjee showed to Justice Tirthankar Ghosh video footage of the alleged attack. "I could see and hear men shouting slogans with black flags. I could see from the clip a lot of fibre sticks that police use and some bamboo sticks but am not sure about the attack. Produce the video footage or photograph of the attack, if you have any," Justice Ghosh said.
Mukherjee also argued for making out a case of wrongful restraint, a cognizable offence, that mandated registration of an FIR. Advocate general Kishore Datta argued that the petition was not maintainable.
