  • Kolkata: The five Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who were arrested by Bidhannagar City Police for posing as I-T officers to pull off a heist at Chinar Park last week will undergo a test identification (TI) parade at Dum Dum correctional home on Friday. Meanwhile, the CISF prepared suspension orders for the arrested personnel — an inspector, a head constable, two male constables, and a female constable — who were posted at RG Kar Medical College following a rape-murder case last Aug.

In the Chinar Park case, Vinita Singh (18), who lodged the complaint, said: "I have a sharp memory and have sketched a mental picture of them. I've even researched the process online to ensure I identify the right people."

On March 18, six men disguised as I-T officers and cops stormed Singh's grandmother's home and made off with Rs 6 lakh in cash and jewellery. So far, cops arrested five of the six intruders, all CISF personnel. Additionally, Singh's stepmother, the driver of the getaway car, and a middleman were taken into custody.

In the case of CISF personnel posted at RG Kar last year, a CISF officer in Kolkata said, "All five have been suspended, and a time-bound probe is underway. So far, no past criminal record has surfaced."
