Going beyond conventions, Anirban Ghosh uses more than one media to create a single work of art or a series of works.

At “Inscribed Imaging”, a multimedia artwork currently being exhibited in Kolkata, Ghosh makes it essential for the viewers to move beyond mental and visual engagements, and instead embark on a journey that requires navigation, dialogue, and interpretation.  “This is a new and radically different way of looking and conceiving art. And I think, in this hypermodern AI and technology-infused world, today’s generation are well-placed to understand what I am trying to convey. Today’s generation has eschewed the binary world of yesteryears. They believe in multiplicities of existence and expression. And my projects, albeit under a unifying theme, are firmly rooted in the idea of multitudes,” says Ghosh.

Stating that there is not a “singular theme” in his artwork, Ghosh says: “In fact, one should certainly see the different projects that make up my work, as both: each project stands out by itself, and taken together, they speak in a common voice.”

Dr Soma Bhowmick, the curator of the exhibition, says that while Ghosh’s art may not adhere to a singular, unified narrative or style, its richness and multilayered experiences are bound to provoke multiple interpretations.
