Kolkata: City-based Halder Venture Ltd (HVL), a leading player in parboiled rice and edible oil manufacturing sector, may look to acquire brands of KS Oil, which went into liquidation. KS Oil owns brands like Kalash and Double Sher, among others.
HVL has already acquired the manufacturing unit of KS Oil in Haldia. Company MD Keshab Kumar Halder pointed out that it was a Rs 64-crore acquisition and would significantly expand HVL's operational footprint. "The entire process took more than one-and-a-half years to complete, and we are interested in some of the brands as well, but that would take time," he added. The Haldia unit has a capacity of 500 tonnes per day. Halder added that the company was eyeing 25% growth in turnover in the next five years.
According to Halder, the strategic expansion is poised to drive annual revenue growth of over Rs 1,500 crore, enabling HVL to capitalise on burgeoning demand across eastern India.
