  • Kolkata: A former student of a missionary school, located on the outskirts of south Kolkata, had allegedly hacked the social media accounts of his alma mater and posted pornographic content and other provocative messages using AI-generated images of some of the teachers in compromising acts.

After investigation, police have identified the former student. The school has lauded the Port Division Cyber Cell's efforts for helping the school. "Our institution, including the staff members, recently faced a real threat due to the creation of a fake account using the name and logo of our school. Numerous vulgar reels with the photos of our teachers were uploaded along with abusive comments. This severely damaged the reputation of the school and the image of the faculty members.

One of our teachers, who was residing in the Port area, took the initiative to approach the Cyber Cell of Port Division (Kolkata Police) and lodged a complaint with sergeant Manjit Goyal. Within a few days, Goyal provided us with the details of the accused," the school wrote in a letter to DC (Port), congratulating his team's efforts.

The school stated that they called the student and his parents. During the meeting, the student, as well as the parents, admitted to their wrongdoings and apologised for the same verbally and in writing. "Considering the future of the ex-student, the school's management decided not to take any legal action against him," the principal stated.
