Hamas, ISIS flags are visible here but Ram Navami flags are removed from cars: Bengal BJP leader Dilip Ghosh

NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Friday attacked the Mamata Banerjee government, alleging selective targeting of religious symbols during Ram Navami celebrations.
Speaking to reporters, Ghosh claimed that in West Bengal, "Here you will find Hamas, Palestine, Pakistan, Syria, and even ISIS flags being waved, but Ram Navami flags are removed from cars."
Ghosh vehemently questioned whether Kolkata was transforming into Dhaka, Syria, or Afghanistan, suggesting that this aligned with Mamata Banerjee's vision for the state.
He alleged that the recent large-scale Ram Navami processions across the state triggered the administration’s actions, implying a political motive behind the removal of the flags.
"Has Kolkata become Dhaka, Syria, or Afghanistan? This is what Mamata Banerjee wants. This time the grand Ram Navami processions taken out in the state have triggered these actions," Ghosh added.
BJP MP Khagen Murmu also accused West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of attempting to turn the state into "another Bangladesh" by allegedly inciting Muslims against Hindus and provoking street unrest.
Murmu claimed that the recent grand Ram Navami processions across the state were entirely apolitical and reflected a growing sense of awareness and unity among Hindus.
"Mamata Banerjee is trying to turn West Bengal into Bangladesh by inciting Muslims against Hindus and bringing them on the streets. The grand Ram Navami processions were absolutely apolitical, indicating that the Hindus are awakening, " said Khagen Murmu.
The remarks come amid rising tensions over religious processions in the state, with both the BJP and TMC accusing each other of politicizing the events.
