Kolkata: The city continued to be singed by the unrelenting heat as the maximum temperature reached 34.2°C on Saturday. But it turned pleasant after sundown. The minimum temperature was 26.4°C.
There would be little change in the weather over the next few days, said the Met office, which predicted a thunderstorm in Kolkata between Saturday and Sunday night. "Conditions have turned favourable for a storm. The city may get strong winds late on Saturday or on Sunday night," said Regional Meteorological Centre weather scientist H R Biswas.
He added though moisture was flowing into the city, humidity remained low due to strong winds. "The discomfort level is low due to the winds close to the ground," added Biswas.
