3 stabbed in late-night armed clash near Park Circus 7-Point in Kolkata

Image used is for representational purposes only KOLKATA: Three persons were injured after reportedly being attacked by a group of assailants wielding knives and sharp weapons.
Cops said the attack, which occurred around 10.30 pm near New Park Street, close to Park Circus 7-point crossing, on Tuesday, may have been motivated by previous enmity.
Mohammed Tarique and his companions, Shadab and Bunty, were confronted by a group of men — led by Fardeen alias Shees — who had a dispute with them. Fardeen's associates, including Shoaib, Bholu, and Hamza, were present too. The altercation quickly escalated into violence, resulting in injuries to all three victims.
While Tarique and Bunty received immediate medical attention at CNMC Hospital and were subsequently discharged, Shadab's injuries were more severe, requiring admission to the Trauma Care Centre at SSKM Hospital.
The Beniapukur police station registered a case under sections 109/3(6) BNS, pertaining to an attempt to murder, on Wednesday morning. The cops launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused. The detective department is providing technical assistance in this regard.
This incident has raised concerns about violent attacks in the area, with local residents calling for increased police patrolling during the night.
Authorities have assured that appropriate action will be taken against the perpetrators once they are arrested, and have urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of the accused to come forward and assist in the investigation.
