• City school celebrates silver jubilee with grandeur

  • 123 Kolkata: National English School celebrated its 25-year journey with a grand silver jubilee celebration at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre recently. West Bengal minister of higher education and school education Bratya Basu was the chief guest at the event.

    The festivities commenced recently with the release of a special cover by the Union communication ministry's department of posts, led by Rajarhat-New Town MLA Tapas Chatterjee and senior postal officials, paying tribute to the school's legacy.

    A key prelude to the event was the Green Earth, Clean Earth Rally. Students from all branches of the school — VIP Road, Rajarhat, and Desh Bandhu Nagar — advocated for environmental sustainability.

    The event culminated with a cultural programme, attended by Basu, Chatterjee and Debraj Chakraborty, MMiC of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation. The evening began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome speech by the rector. The silver jubilee edition of the school magazine, Harvest, was also released.

    A series of vibrant performances reflected the enthusiasm and creativity of the students of the school.

    Senior students delivered riveting acts such as Macbeth: The Shadows of Ambition and Nature's Embrace: Elements and Emotions, a vivid dance performance celebrating the symbiosis between humanity and nature.
