  • Two candidates from West Bengal, Devdutta Majhi and Archisman Nandy, are among the 24 candidates who have bagged a perfect 100 NTA score in the second edition of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Main.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced results of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Main 2025, session 2 results for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) on Saturday. Over 14.75 lakh candidates attended the exam across both sessions and 24 students scored a perfect 100 percentile nationwide.
Devdutta Majhi, who previously topped West Bengal’s Madhyamik exam in 2024 with 697/700 marks, is one of the female candidates who scored a perfect 100.

A student of Katwa Durgadasi Chaudhurani Girls’ High School in Bardhaman, Majhi spends around 10-12 hours each day on her studies solving complex Physics problems and brushing up her concepts for JEE Advanced. Her goal is to get into IISc Bangalore and pursue research. While she enjoys playing chess, she is also a nature-animal lover who often takes time off to care for the strays in her locality.

Speaking to The Indian Express Devdutta’s mother Shelly Dan said, “Right now, she is preparing for her upcoming exams. We are proud of her, but our focus is now on the next step. We are very happy. I want my daughter to work for the benefit of people and society and atmost for our country.”

Archisman Nandy, who is from a remote village of Changual in Kharagpur, also hit the perfect mark.

In his initial years, he studied under the West Bengal Board, but later shifted to the ICSE board for Class 10, and CBSE board for Class 12. In January 2025, while travelling to appear for the first session of JEE (Mains), Nandy and his family met with an accident. But with his determination and with the support of his parents, Nandy gathered courage and appeared for the exam and scored a remarkable 99.98757 percentile.

His primary interests lie in Mathematics and Physics.

He plays carrom and badminton, plays the table and also writes poetry.

“We’re very proud of him. We also motivate him to keep a clear mind and walk towards his next goal, JEE Advanced. He wants to study computer science as it is the AI-era,” said his mother Anindita Maity while speaking with The Indian Express.

Based on the results of the JEE (Main) papers 1 and 2, the candidates will be shortlisted to appear in the JEE (Advanced), which is a one-stop exam for admission to the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
