Kolkata: A family living in a complex at Sullangari under New Town police station returned home from a week-long trip to discover their LED TV, home theatre and Apple iPhone, worth Rs 2 lakh, missing.
The complaint was lodged by Reshma Ekka, a Cuttack HC advocate, who lives in the flat with her husband and daughter. "We left on April 11 and returned on April 18. After opening the flat, we found the TV and the sound system missing. After a search, we discovered that four other valuable items were stolen. We reported the matter to the local police station and the New Town DCP," said the woman. The complainant stated: "The theft seems to be planned, and we suspect the involvement of the security personnel and housekeeping staff. They might have kept tabs on our movement and entered the flat in our absence."
An officer at the New Town police station said, "We have started an investigation."
