Police resort to lathi-charge to remove NH12 blockade

Kolkata: Police resorted to lathi-charge to remove people blocking the NH12 at Amdanga in North 24-Parganas on Friday evening. Police said the protesters blocked the NH12 after a group made some disparaging remarks against them. Police said they resorted to lathi-charge after the protesters threw stones at them. This led to long queues of buses and trucks on the NH12 until late at night.
