• Disaster mgmt training for civic volunteers

  • Kolkata: Police set up training camps for the civic volunteers of all the 26 police stations under the Barrackpore Commissionerate to train them in effective coordination and emergency communication during natural disasters.

    The two-month session commenced on Tuesday at the Police Commissioner's Conference Hall in Barrackpore and for the first time in India, these sessions are conducted with the help of ham radio operators from the West Bengal Radio Club. Ham radio stations are set to be installed in each police station area to facilitate seamless communication during emergencies.
