Kolkata: A group of Sindhi homemakers aged between 40 and 60 years broke stereotypes on Thursday by walking the ramp at a fashion show as part of a cultural evening.
Organized by Vishwa Sindhi Seva Sangam (VSSS), West Bengal chapter, the event featured a May Queen Ball and a Tambola night alongside the fashion show that drew a crowd of over 250 members. Sandhya Hiranandani was crowned Sindhi May Queen 2024, while Shalini Chandanani and Anu Ramrakhiani were declared first and second runners-up, respectively.
In a gesture of social responsibility, VSSS announced that part of the event's proceeds will be directed towards supporting destitute women, furthering the organization's mission of community upliftment.
The event concluded with a festive dinner, celebrating the Sindhi culture and heritage. VSSS West Bengal president Anil Punjabi expressed gratitude to all attendees .
