Kolkata: The state health department has formed a five-member expert committee to probe into the death of a young mother following a Caesarean delivery at the College of Medicine and Sagore Dutta Medical College.
It has been alleged that the deceased, Pampa Das — a resident of Nimta in North 24 Parganas — might have died on Monday due to the effects of a certain batch of antibiotic injected into her body post-childbirth.
Nine other women, who had also been administered with the same injection, were affected. The batch of the particular drug has been recalled. Officials said the other women were stable
