Rishra: Rajani Shaw, the wife of BSF jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw, currently detained in Pakistan, will travel to Delhi on Tuesday to meet BSF officers there if she does not hear anything concrete about her husband's release by then.
Rajani, who returned to Kolkata on Thursday from Pathankot where she went to meet her husband's commanding officer, said her family was anxious about Purnam's condition in detention, which has stretched to over 10 days now.
"I have been receiving assurances that Purnam is well and that he will return. But there is no explanation as to why he is being held back for so long. I don't think there is enough urgency on the part of the force to get him back. I am extremely worried," Rajani said.
Purnam's mother, Devanti Devi, who is afflicted with paralysis, is distraught about her son's condition. She has been praying for his safe return ever since the family learnt about Purnam's detention by Pakistan Rangers last Wednesday.
