• 3 held for killing deer & cooking meat at Buxa

  • 12 Jalpaiguri: The Buxa Tiger Reserve forest authority arrested three persons on Sunday for killing a deer and attempting to eat its meat. The trio was held from North Rydak range of BTR East Division around 8pm while they were cooking deer meat, an official said.

    All three accused were produced in an Alipurduar court on Monday for violation of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

    The meat samples were sent to Zoological Survey of India for identification. The arrested persons have been identified as Kushal Kishpotta, Etren Minj and Anil Toppo, all residents of Rydak tea garden.
