  • Kolkata: A man travelling under a false identity was arrested at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Thursday after immigration officials uncovered that he was holding a fraudulently obtained Indian passport. The arrest comes amid a red alert issued last week, prompting enhanced security checks and stricter passenger screening.The man, identified as Ajit Yadav, a native of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, attempted to clear immigration under the name "Ajeet Kumar" using a different passport. He was earlier deported from Bangkok and intercepted by authorities upon his arrival for an immigration check. His inconsistencies during immigration clearance raised suspicions, and further profiling revealed his true identity.Yadav was previously issued three valid Indian passports in his original name — Ajit Yadav — with details matching his real credentials. He later fraudulently procured a fourth passport under the alias Ajeet Kumar, altering his name, parents' names, and date of birth.
