Two days after a fire tore through the office of a chemical company at Krishna Building, near the intersection of AJC Bose Roadand Ballygunge Circular Road at Beckbagan, a forensic team collected samples from the gutted portion on Monday. According to sources, the forensic report is likely to be submitted in the next four-five days.On Monday, both gates of the commercial building at 224, AJC Bose Road were closed, and cops were posted on its premises. There are about 170 offices in the building. Hundreds came to work on Monday and found the gates locked. They had to wait on the pavements of AJC Bose Road and Ballygunge Circular Road for nearly six or seven hours since 9 am. Sandyeswar Dey, an employee of the gutted office, said, "Around 2.30 pm, we went to office but were not allowed to enter the building." Anupam Chakraborty, an employee of a tea company on the seventh floor of the building, said, "Our important belongings are in the office but we are unable to collect them." An officer said, "Once we get a nod from the fire department, we will open the building." tnn
