123 Alipurduar: PM Narendra Modi is likely to hold a public meeting in Alipurduar on May 29. Bengal BJP netas indicated that he may participate in an official event at the Hasimara airbase. Nabanna officials on Tuesday confirmed receiving preliminary information but were awaiting comprehensive details from Delhi.Alipurduar BJP MP Manoj Tigga said: "The PM is likely to hold a public meeting at the Parade Ground in Alipurduar on May 29. This could be his first public rally since Operation Sindoor. He is supposed to hold an administrative meeting as well." Following India's counter-terror operations after the Pahalgam attack, Modi had visited Punjab's Adampur airbase and met soldiers there. On May 22, he is scheduled to visit Bikaner in Rajasthan, which shares a 150km border with Pakistan. Alipurduar is strategically located near the Bhutan border and is near China. The airbase houses a squadron of Dassault Rafale fighters.Bengal BJP netas said they were yet to get official confirmation from the PMO on Modi's itinerary. "We have started preparations for his visit. The rally after Operation Sindoor will spell out India's strategy in dealing with terror," said a Bengal BJP member.
