12 Kolkata: Police investigators recovered an additional Rs 32.5 lakh on Tuesday in the ongoing Entally robbery investigation, bringing the total recovered amount to Rs 1.5 crore of the Rs 2.7 crore stolen on May 5.Ten persons have been arrested in this case so far.The latest recovery was made from a residence in Mandirbazar area of South 24 Parganas, belonging to a relative of key suspect Nazrul Hossain, also known as Laltu. Police said Hossain revealed the location during questioning on Monday."The investigation is progressing steadily, and we expect to recover the remaining amount soon," said Joint CP (Crime & Traffic) Rupesh Kumar. The case took a significant turn with the arrest of nine individuals, including a Kolkata Police Special Task Force constable, Mintu Sarkar. The involvement of law enforcement personnel raised concerns, with the top brass asking unit heads to be "extra careful on the role of their colleagues" in the future.The robbery occurred when two individuals transporting Rs 2.7 crore from a foreign exchange company office on SN Banerjee Road were intercepted in the Entally area's Phillips More. The money was allegedly being transferred for bank deposit when the incident occurred. "We took the 10 arrested so far into our custody and decided to question them together," said a cop.
