• BJP women’s wing holds ‘Sindoor Yatra’ to honour forces

  • 123 Kolkata: Women turned out in large numbers as BJP's women's wing held a ‘Sindoor Yatra' rally in Kolkata on Tuesday to honour the valour of India's armed forces to avenge the dastardly killings by terrorists in Pahalgam.The yatra, which started simultaneously from Swami Vivekananda's residence at Simla Street and the residence of Sister Nivedita at Bagbazar, ran parallelly with BJP's ‘Tiranga Yatra' in districts."The first yatra was held from College Street to Shyambazar on Friday. On Monday, mahila morcha workers had also held a rally from Bagbazar ‘Maa er Bari' to Shyambazar. We are using abir to spread the message so that every Indian is ready to protect the sindoor of our mothers and daughters," said Falguni Patra, BJP's mahila morcha president.The morcha will soon launch a door-to-door campaign to take the message to every household.Pointing out that ‘Sindoor Yatra' was far more than a ceremonial event, Bengal BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya said: "It is a powerful and heartfelt tribute from the women of the nation to our armed forces.
