Siliguri: A 38-year-old Bangladeshi national, Mohammad Abdul Sattar Milan, was arrested from the Durpin Dara army cantonment on Tuesday after he was apprehended by Military Intelligence. The accused was produced in court on Wednesday and sent on three-day police remand.Police said Milan was a resident of Choriliya Bataba village under Pirganj PS in Bangladesh' Rangpur. He was found carrying a sack containing gram, puffed rice and clothes.Authorities described Milan as appearing disoriented. He reportedly claimed to be a rag-picker and revealed that he was a Bangladeshi national.He provided personal details, including the names of his father, Mohammad Abdul, mother, Musmat Baliga Khatun, wife, Bibi Nazish Begum, and children, Abdul Naseem and Sadiya Akhtar."A case was registered against him under Section 14A of the Foreigners Act, 1946. Investigation was initiated to determine the nature and purpose of his presence in a sensitive area near the army establishment," said a police officer.
