Kolkata: Former Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Santanu Sen, who is also a doctor, appeared before the West Bengal Medical Council's (WBMC) penal and ethical committee on Wednesday. He was there to respond to a show-cause notice regarding use of FRCP (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians) in his letterhead without registering this additional qualification with the council.Sen said he submitted a request for verification and registration of FRCP from Glasgow to the state council several times and paid the requisite fee. He claimed he also sent letters and filed two RTIs on the status of his application to WBMC, but the council failed to reply. "This notice is nothing but personal vendetta by some officials of the council.
