12 Kolkata: Trinamool Congress on Monday hit back at Union home minister Amit Shah's "infiltration" jibe at the Bengal govt, dubbing it a "same-side goal."Party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, "Who guards the borders? Amit Shah just delivered a same-side goal. If there is infiltration, then it is the failure of your department, your force.""Nowhere does state police guard international borders. Before raising fingers, ask yourself how did the militants sneak into Pahalgam? The Centre decided to extend BSF's jurisdiction from 15 km from the international borders to 50 km. Why are they repeatedly failing even after that?" he askedEchoing Ghosh, senior Congress neta Rashid Alvi told IANS: "Is Mamata Banerjee responsible for guarding India's borders, or is that the duty of the Indian govt? Who is in charge of border security? If people are entering India illegally, the blame lies with the central govt, not Mamata. She doesn't control border patrols — Modi's govt does."During his two-day visit to Bengal, Shah said Mamata Banerjee had allowed unchecked infiltration for political gain."Mamata Banerjee has opened the nation's borders for Bangladeshis. She is allowing infiltration. Only a lotus govt can stop this," he said. He also accused the CM of refusing to provide land for fencing at the border.Ghosh said, "We have already made it clear that such political posturing based on false accusations and misleading facts is unacceptable from the Union home minister. We have already demanded that Shah resign. He is not even aware that the CM and the Trinamool Congress completely backed the Centre on Operation Sindoor."
