  • Kolkata: The jeans factory owner in S 24 Parganas' Rabindranagar, Shahensha, who was arrested in Mumbai along with two aides for assaulting a child whom they tied upside down on charges of mobile theft, was remanded in eight days of police custody by an Alipore court. The three, along with two others arrested earlier, were questioned face-to-face by police. The child has been missing for past 10 days after the assault, and police have also sought help of CID to trace the kid.Shahensha told cops that the child stole his mobile. An officer said, "He claimed the kid fled out of fear. He said he then asked the property owner for his bike to look for him. He said he realised that locals were gathering, so he fled to Budge Budge and took a train to Mumbai from Howrah." But two CCTV footage did not show the kid running away.
