Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court is likely to hear the plea by RG Kar doctors Debashis Haldar, Asfakulla Naiya, and Aniket Mahato against their transfers out of RG Kar Medical College Hospital. Justice Amrita Sinha may hear their appeal. The doctors claimed in HC that their transfers were unjust and not on merit. The Bengal govt had transferred the three doctors — face of the RG movement — to other district hospitals. The transfers were described as routine. However, the doctors alleged these were done vindictively and bypassing the standard merit based transfer rules. tnn
