Kolkata: Garden Reach resident Wazahat Khan Qadri (30) was finally arrested on Monday, after being on the run for around a week, evading both local and Assam Police.Police had conducted raids in Digha and Howrah. Qadri was finally arrested from a third-floor flat in a house on KC Sen Street. The co-founder of Rashidi Foundation was booked for promoting enmity between different groups, deliberate acts intended to outrage the religious feelings of any class of citizens, intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of peace and statements that incite public mischief, the same charges he had levelled against a law student, who was arrested following his complaint. Sujit Ghosh, a resident, lodged a case against Qadri at Golf Green PS."He was picked up on Monday evening," said joint CP (crime & traffic) Rupesh Kumar. Police said his family members would also be summoned for questioning.
