Kolkata: A 19-year-old college student was attacked with a sharp weapon at Entally early on Sunday after he and two of his friends confronted a group of men, who allegedly harassed a female friend. Aditya Gupta suffered slash wounds on his wrist and thigh in the attack that took place on Harimohan Basu Lane. He is currently undergoing treatment at NRS. Gupta told police that around 2am, he was chatting with four friends, including the girl, next to their houses, when four men on two scooters approached them. They first tried to strike up a conversation with them but when, rebuffed, they allegedly passed lewd comments at the girl. "When we objected, they attacked us," said Gupta. Two of the attackers, identified as Bikash and Vicky, reportedly used a sharp object to attack Gupta before riding away.
