JU extends acting fin officer’s term till edu dept final order

Kolkata: Jadavpur University's working committee decided on Tuesday to extend the tenure of acting finance officer Dipanjan Ray Chaudhuri until the final order is issued by the state higher education department, according to an order issued by university registrar. The acting finance officer's term ended on June 16, and at present, the university is running without one. Jadavpur University Teachers' Association general secretary Partha Pratim Ray said, "We welcome the decision. The vacancy for the last eight days has halted several important operations. " Sources said the higher education department order will be issued shortly. tnn
