Kolkata: Police registered an FIR against two individuals and their associates for allegedly defrauding an MBA aspirant of Rs 11 lakh by promising admission to reputable business schools. Cops said several others were also duped in a similar fashion. The complaint was filed by Ayush Kumar from Jharkhand at Park Street Police Station early on Saturday, alleging that the accused operated from an office on Mirza Ghalib Street. Cops said the accused deceived Kumar by promising him admissions to prestigious institutions. Kumar was induced to pay Rs 11 lakh in instalments, for which he received a purportedly false agreement and receipts."The accused neither facilitated any college admission nor returned the money paid by the complainant," said a senior police officer. "They appear to have systematically planned this fraud by creating fake documents and institute documents to establish credibility." —Dwaipayan Ghosh
