Kolkata: CPM functionary Minakshi Mukherjee has come under criticism for using objectionable language during a public speech in Kaliganj, Nadia, while protesting the death of 11-year-old Tamanna Khatun who was killed in a bomb blast. A video of her remarks has gone viral on social media. Minakshi is heard using a derogatory slang aimed at TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh. "A shameless, brazen political party that looted money in the Saradha scam has now appointed that son of a *** (slang) as its spokesperson," she said. Ghosh said, "My father, Kalyan Ghosh, was a doctor. Senior CPM netas know very well what kind of person my father was. Through journalism, I have interacted with many CPM functionaries — Minakshi does not come close to them. As a spokesperson, the statements I make are clearly something Minakshi cannot tolerate. "
