Krishnanagar: The family of 10-year-old Tamanna Khatun, who was killed in a bomb blast on June 23 following Trinamool Congress's bypoll victory in Kaliganj, plans to approach Calcutta High Court seeking a CBI probe into her death. Police had arrested 15 people, including local Trinamool booth president Gawal Sheikh and his son Bimal Sheikh. However, 15 others named in the FIR remain at large.
Tamanna's mother expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation, saying: "We trusted the police, but many of the accused are still roaming free. We want justice and are moving the high court with the hope that something will finally be done.
" Tamanna's father added: "We want a CBI investigation. Our daughter was innocent. The killers must be punished, no matter who they are.
"
Tamanna's mother, Sabina, met senior advocate Bikash Bhattacharya for a consultation. Bhattacharya, also a CPM Rajya Sabha member, said: "I have assured her of legal assistance in her quest for justice for her daughter.
"Officials said NCW member Archana Majumdar would visit Tamanna's Nadia residence on Monday.
