Passengers at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport are in for a treat, with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) kicking off a weekly culinary masterclass series with the renowned chef Rango Mukherjee.
“The inaugural session, held on Thursday (July 3) in the airport’s Travel Food Services lounge, saw Chef Mukherjee showcase his culinary prowess with a live demonstration of Kolkata’s tawa veg pulao,” said an official.
“This flavourful dish captivated an enthusiastic audience of passengers,” the official added.
Chef Rango Mukherjee is a culinary strategist and brand consultant who blends his MBA-driven business acumen with innovative food concepts. Trained at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, he also serves as the Treasurer of the Eastern India Culinary Association (EICA).
Dr P R Beuria, Airport Director, and AAI officials and representatives from Travel Food Services (TFS), were there at the launch of the initiative.
It was announced that Chef Rango Mukherjee will be conducting exclusive culinary sessions at the Kolkata Airport Lounge every Thursday. Travelers can look forward to new recipes, techniques, and insights in this passenger engagement initiative at the airport.
