  • Kolkata: My daughter, still traumatised, had been "sent to an undisclosed location" to ensure her quick recovery, the father of the survivor told a news media outlet on Saturday. He added the entire family was in shock, too. "We demand the harshest punishment," her uncle said.

"She is getting all the medical aid that she requires. Her condition isn't stable yet, but she is improving gradually. We've shifted her to a different location due to her medical condition," her maternal uncle added.

According to the first-year student's uncle, it was after 11 pm on June 25, when she had called home and said she was in "a serious trouble". The girl asked her family to come over to the campus. "I went with her father, and she recounted what happened to her. She was severely traumatised. We brought her home around 12.30 am. We lodged a complaint the next day and an FIR was registered. Two persons were arrested after 5 pm that day," said the uncle. The survivor's mother said her daughter had never mentioned being "disturbed or threatened" by the key accused, Monojit Mishra, before this incident. "They were teaching or studying in the same college, so we were unaware," she said. The family reiterated that the police acted immediately. "We trust the police completely. We are receiving all sorts of help from them. We have full trust in them," said the father. Asked about possible ruling party links of the accused, the girl's uncle said, "You all see and hear things, but we cannot comment.

" He denied receiving threats from any political party so far.
