Kolkata: A couple was allegedly assaulted by a group of drunk men outside a bar in Salt Lake's EP Block early on Sunday. The incident occurred between 1.30 am and 2 am, when the duo came out of the bar and ran into a group of men in the parking lot. The men allegedly made obscene remarks to the woman. When her friend protested, an argument broke out, leading to an assault, cops said. The attackers, reportedly inebriated, vandalised the man's car and hit him with a liquor bottle. He collapsed on the spot, bleeding. The woman was also pushed around.
Officers from Electronic Complex PS arrived on the scene after being informed. However, none involved in the brawl lodged a complaint till late on Sunday. Officers said they have asked the bar authorities for their CCTV footage. tnn
