• Kolkata law college rape case: Police seize mobile phone of another security guard

  • The Kolkata Police on Saturday seized the mobile phone of another security guard who was on duty at a law college in the city, where a 24-year-old student was allegedly raped on campus on June 25.

    The security guard was on duty before the incident took place and went home by 8.25 pm that day, police said. The investigators want to know who the guard interacted with during his duty hours from 4pm to 8pm. “Seized mobile phone will be investigated, whether this security guard talked with the arrested security guard after the rape incident,” a Kolkata police senior official said.

    Police have so far interrogated 18 people and recorded their statement. They have also found that he the prime accused Monojit Mishra had called one or two advocates after the victim reported to the police, an official claimed. atri mitra
