Kolkata: Police recovered the body of a 58-year-old man, Sanat Haldar, who had been missing since Monday, from the Anandapur canal on Tuesday. Haldar, a resident of Purba Rajapur, was last seen on Monday. A local alerted the police after he saw someone falling into the canal. During their initial search on Tuesday morning, cops found Haldar's personal belongings near the canal, including his slippers, glasses and a bottle of liquor. The search team was initially unable to locate him. Later in the day, officers spotted a body floating in the canal. Family members were called and they identified the body as Haldar's.
